Game Changer: Shortlisted for the SeedLegals Startup Awards 2026

We're thrilled to share that Solas Compliance has been shortlisted in the Game Changer category at the SeedLegals Startup Awards 2026.

It's a meaningful moment for our team and for our mission of helping regulated businesses move faster by embedding AI-powered compliance directly into the marketing workflow.

Since launch, we've focused on one thing: giving marketing and compliance teams the confidence to create, review, and approve campaigns quickly, without cutting corners on regulatory or brand standards.

Thank you to the customers, partners, and supporters who've backed us on this journey so far. Congratulations to the other shortlisted businesses — we're looking forward to celebrating with the UK's startup community in October.

Google Gamble: A New Rule Could Impact Your Entire Account

Google changed its gambling ad rules 18 times last year. From September 14th, one critical change takes effect that could impact your entire account.

Until now, policy problems stayed local: one ad disapproved, one account in trouble. From September 14th, Google judges the whole manager account.

If there are violations, certification gets pulled for all brands under that account. Your cleanest brand now shares a fate with your riskiest one.

The window to get compliant is closing. Clean the structure. Identify issues before they count against your licence to advertise.

AI Meets Prediction Markets

Barry Orr highlights OpenAI's decision to surface Kalshi's World Cup probabilities directly in ChatGPT, marking another major distribution win for prediction markets after partnerships with CNN, CNBC and Google. This is further evidence they're moving into the mainstream as some sportsbooks struggle to keep pace.

Finfluencers Under Fire

Year one of the FCA's five-year strategy delivered a headline stat: 650 social media takedown requests for illegal finfluencer promotions, from a single coordinated week of action. Neil warns the real exposure sits closer to home than rogue accounts.

Firms remain responsible for every promotion they make or cause to be made — even with no commercial relationship. No contract, no invoice, no affiliate code. Most review workflows only cover commissioned content. That's the wrong boundary.

If an influencer mentions your brand and it looks like a promotion, the FCA may treat it as yours. Review workflows need to extend beyond paid partnerships.

Top News: Gibraltar's Prediction Markets First

Gibraltar has published the world's first standalone prediction markets framework — two licences already granted, with safeguards on manipulation and AML. Proof that innovation and regulation go hand in hand.
